Una Revelación Solar… (2013-2018) reflexiona sobre la necesidad de la contemplación y la investigación profunda para desvelar las diferentes capas y lecturas de un mismo paisaje. Bajo la capa superficial de los
supuestos paraísos existen otras caras medio ocultas que nos muestran las
intervenciones drásticas del ser humano en el entorno natural.
Esta serie se concibe como un prólogo de El Libro de Arena (2016-2020). Todo ocurre en el cabo de Punta Paloma, un paradisíaco enclave en la costa atlántica del Estrecho de Gibraltar (en Tarifa, Cádiz), a tan solo unos 14km de África. Turistas de todo el mundo vienen a disfrutar de las espectaculares vistas desde lo alto de la gran duna móvil de Valdevaqueros. Esta duna no siempre estuvo ahí. Se empezó a crear en 1939 nada más terminar la guerra civil española, por una ambiciosa intervención militar en la zona, debido a un infundado temor a posibles ataques de los aliados franceses e ingleses desde el mar. Antes de esta intervención, el sistema era un enorme cordón dunar que debía llevar estable al menos unos seis mil años.
En el mismo lugar, en 1988, se encontró por primera vez el cuerpo ahogado de un inmigrante africano. Desde entonces, embarcaciones neumáticas y pateras destrozadas llegan arrastradas por el mar y acaban enterradas en estas playas, restos que la propia naturaleza parece ayudar a olvidar.
La duna sigue creciendo sin control, ha sido testigo de todas estas historias, de muertes, migraciones, guerras, degradación ambiental. ¿Cuál sería el sentido de la existencia humana y nuestra posición en esta compleja estructura del equilibrio natural y universal?

research to reveal the different layers and reading of the same landscape.
Under the superficial layer of the so – called paradises there are other hidden
veils that illustrate us the drastic interventions of the human being in the
natural environment.
This series is conceived as a prologue to The Book of Sand. Everything takes place at the cape of Punta Paloma, a heavenly enclave in the atlantic coast of Gibraltar’s strait (in Tarifa, Cádiz) only 14 km away from Africa. Tourists from all over the world come to enjoy the spectacular views from the top of the big moving dune in Valdevaqueros. This dune wasn’t always there. It started being created in 1939, just after the Spanish Civil War ended, by an ambitious military intervention in the zone, due to an unfounded fear of possible attacks from the French and English allies by the sea. Before this intervention, the system was an enormous dune cord which must have been stable for at least six thousand years.
In 1988, in the same coast of the Strait of Gibraltar, the drowned body of an African immigrant was found for the first time. Since then, pneumatic and wooden boats , destroyed and eroded, have been washed up by the sea and end up buried on these beaches. A terrible legacy that nature seems to help us to forget.
There is a big moving sand dune that continues to grow without control. This dune has witness all these stories of deaths, migrations, wars, environmental degradation. What would be the meaning of human existence and our position in this complex structure of natural and universal balance?
